COMSTOCK (WKZO AM/FM) — The Comstock School District could be going through some major changes in the fall to address rising costs due to declining enrollment and a proposal to expand pre-school opportunities for children in the district.
Superintendent Jeffrey Thoenes plans to consolidate the students from Green Meadow and North Elementary, creating the new Comstock Elementary School at what is currently North East Middle School.
The middle school students would attend classes at what is now North Elementary, after modifications to both the building and the curriculum.
Green Meadow would become the Early Learning Academy, a preschool with a beefed up curriculum.
School officials say the plan would eliminate redundancies, cut costs and allow for expanded programming.
The full plan can be found here.
