KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A reckless driver who had just torn across some yards on Princeton and Drexel Place was spotted by Public Safety at about 1 am Saturday morning on West North Street.
When they tried to pull him over, he sped away and they opted not to pursue.
The suspect driver got as far as the red light at North and Douglas, tried to run it and struck a car, causing minor injuries.
His damaged vehicle got about two blocks away and he had to abandon it, fleeing on foot.
A K-9 tracked him down hiding near trash cans on Forbes Avenue and he was taken into custody.
They not only found a gun in the wreck of his car, but discovered multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest.
He will not only face a list of new charges buut the old ones as well. He will be spending some time in the County Jail in the meantime.
