PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s a different way to use Facebook, and now two Portage men are in the Kalamazoo County Jail facing trial for armed robbery for going online to lure a victim to a robbery.
Police say that 25-year-old Dontrell Hooper and 26-year-old Lamar Bell put up an ad offering a pair of special tennis shoes for sale.
When the victim came to the Apartment complex where they lived to buy the shoes on January 9th, they produced a handgun and demanded that he hand over his money.
Both are charged with armed robbery and Hooper faces two additional gun felonies.
Both are being held on $75,000 bond.
