BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A Michigan State Trooper and a woman from Galesburg were injured when slick pavement on I-94 in Calhoun County led to a mini-chain reaction pileup early Saturday just after 4 a.m.
The Trooper was parked by the side of the highway, dealing with an earlier slide off when cars slowing to give the trooper room were apparently losing control.
One slid into the cable guardrails on the interstate near mile marker 92 by Columbia Avenue.
Another driven by a woman, slid into the back of the State Patrol SUV.
That vehicle bounced out into the path of a semi, which could not avoid the collision.
Both the Trooper and the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
