KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The skaters of Portage Public Safety have won the 8th annual “Battle of the Badges” at the Wings Event Center, beating the Kalamazoo Public Safety hockey team 2 to 1.
The annual game is the biggest annual fundraiser for the Cuff and Ladder fund. Money from the fund is used to help out local first responders who suddenly find themselves financially strapped because of medical issues, or other unforeseen issues.
