PAW PAW (WKZO AM/FM) — A Van Buren County K-9 officer has a new bullet and knife proof vest thanks to a family from Battle Creek.
Jim and Stephanie Balch contributed the $950 donation it takes to supply a K-9 with the body armor.
K9 Kuno is the recipient thanks to an organization called Vested Interest in K-9’s which has outfitted about 3300 working dogs across the U.S. since the non-profit was set up in 2009.
The dogs can use the protection, they are often the first to confront a wanted criminal
