KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety mounted another effort to derail the X-Train as it roared through the city’s north side early Sunday morning, and made one major bust.
The X-train is a rolling party, a caravan of cars that tear around in the early morning hours on the weekend, endangering the public, causing havoc and damaging property.
They arrested one of the drivers, a 34-year old from Kalamazoo, for driving while intoxicated and possession of Ecstasy. The 26-year-old passenger in that car, a man from Benton Harbor was busted on an outstanding warrant and discovered to be carrying a loaded firearm. Both were jailed pending formal charges.
They stopped a number of cars near North Park and Kalamazoo Avenue, handing out a number of citations for reckless driving, careless driving and various license violations.
