KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are searching for a driver that struck a child outside an apartment complex.
It happened around 5 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of Interfaith Homes on the city’s Northside.
A mother brought her 7-year-old son to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and said he was playing outside when he was struck by a car that then left the scene.
Authorities describe the vehicle as a dark-colored, 4-door Dodge, possibly an Avenger, with a paper plate affixed to the rear window.
The driver is a black woman possibly in her late 20’s, wearing a light blue jacket.
Anyone with information should contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety or Silent Observer.
