KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Utility officials plan to hold two community meetings next week in Cooper and Richland townships to talk about running municipal water lines to homes with PFAS contaminated wells.
Utility Director James Baker says homes that are currently using filters as a temporary solution need a permanent and safe source of water.
He says the utility has just applied for loans and grants to bring down the cost of the total project.
The Cooper Township meeting is next Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church.
The Richland meeting will be held at 6 p.m. next Thursday at Grace Springs Church.
