TEXAS TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Texas Township homeowners in the Eagle Lake and Crooked Lake watershed areas will be assessed around $3100 each for an interim pumping operation to drain off water trapped by the two lakes and in the groundwater surrounding the lakes.
Superintendent Julie Vanderwiere says they were careful to make sure that only homes that would benefit from the pumping would be included in the Assessment District.
Homeowners will have three years to pay off the costs.
A public hearing on the assessments were held Monday night at KVCC.
Their current plan is to have the pumps operating by late May.
