KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo family has been temporarily displaced by a fire that began in the laundry room of a home in the 1500 block of N. Westnedge just before 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The first PSO’s on the scene ran into heavy smoke.
It took them about 30-minutes to bring the fire under control.
The fire and the subsequent fight to put it out caused fire and water damage to both the first and second floor of the home.
They will investigate the cause.
The Red Cross is providing temporary shelter and assistance to the residents.
