KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Arcadia Ales in Kalamazoo has been taken over by a bank after former owner Tim Suprise apparently defaulted on loans.
The company’s financial troubles surfaced late last year when news of a $1.4-million default went public. There were also reports that Suprise was facing a tax foreclosure.
Public Records show that First National Bank is now the owner.
The place remains open for now. The future of the brewery and nightspot on the riverfront apparently will be decided by the winning bidder at a foreclosure sale now set for a week from today.
It’s not clear who owns the craft beers sold under the Arcadia Ales label.
The Kalamazoo brewery would have celebrated its 5th anniversary on May 8th.
