PARCHMENT (WKZO AM/FM) — A Town Hall meeting was held Thursday night for those affected by PFAS contamination in Parchment.
State Senator Sean McCann invited State Health officials and DEQ represenatives to give updates on their efforts to address the issue and take questions.
He says the event at Parchment High was the first of a series of Town Halls to address various subjects. Several dozen turned out for the session.
A Senate Committee has just tentatively approved the Governor’s $120-million Clean Water Initiative that could cut the cost of providing city water to homes with PFAS contaminated wells in Cooper and Richland Townships.
The City has approved applying for the funding.
