COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man is in custody after a shooting in Comstock Township.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies were called to a home on Pickard Street around 7:30 a.m. Saturday where they found the 40-year-old gunshot victim who was then rushed to Bronson Hospital for treatment.
After further investigating, they learned that the shooting actually occurred in the 6400 block of Celery Street.
The shooter, 30-year-old John Smothers Jr., was found where the shooting happened and taken into custody.
He was arraigned on Monday for 3 felony charges and one misdemeanor.
The victim, whose name was not released, is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
