PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office is issuing arrest warrants for two Portage men in connection to an armed robbery earlier this year.
It occurred the evening on January 4th at the Milham Meadows apartment complex at the corner of Oakland and West Milham in Portage.
Public Safety officers say that 26-year-old Michael Simmons and 27-year-old Marcus Lambert were let into the main entry of the apartment complex after an occupant believed they were friends coming over.
That’s when they pushed the tenant into the apartment, point a semi-automatic handgun at one of the victim’s faces and demanded money from the 3 inside.
The pair stuffed their black backpack with a PlayStation 4, video games, and a minimal amount of cash before fleeing the apartment. Nobody was injured.
Investigators just now identified the suspects. Simmons is wanted for 2 counts of armed robbery and Lambert is wanted for 3 counts of armed robbery as well as 1 count of 1st degree home invasion.
