KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermoble will be making several stops throughout Southwest Michigan this week.
The first Wienermobile was built back in 1936. Now there are 6 that travel the nation with 12 “hotdoggers,” or Oscar Mayer brand ambassadors, that use the giant hotdog as their own personal vehicle.
The Wienermobile has a hotdog shaped dashboard, seating for 6 in ketchup and mustard colored seats, a flat screen TV, “condiment-splattered carpet,” a removable bunroof so hotdoggers can seat on top of the vehicle, and an official wiener jingle horn.
Hotdogger Forrest Koslowski says one of his favorite details of the Wienermobile is the blue sky ceiling inside the vehicle which makes it seem like a brighter day no matter the weather.
