BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — No injuries were reported but a family has been displaced following a Saturday night fire on Avery Avenue in Battle Creek.
Firefighters were called at about 6:30 p.m. as a fire had spread from an attached garage into the home.
All of the home occupants were out by the time firefighters arrived.
It took less than a half hour to get the fire out but due to the amount of contents in the home and garage, extensive overhaul operations took place.
A board-up company secured the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
