SCHOOLCRAFT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A pedestrian is dead after they were struck by a semi in Schoolcraft.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies and Schoolcraft Police responded to the crash just after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday on US-131, south of Lovell Street near the Speedway gas station.
They say a semi traveling northbound on US-131 struck a pedestrian that was walking alone, north with the flow of traffic.
The 23-year-old pedestrian from Schoolcraft was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash and no other vehicles were involved.
The incident is still under investigation and no names have been released at this time.
