BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek Police say nobody was injured after a man shot a pistol and then barricaded himself inside a home for several hours.
Authorities were called to the home on Wealthy Avenue just after 9 a.m. Wednesday because a 24-year-old man, who was living with his mother, was acting “erratically,” and fired one shot outside the home before going in and barricading himself.
The Police Emergency Response team convinced the man to exit and he was taken to Bronson Battle Creek for an evaluation.
Nearby schools and the Battle Creek Country Club were placed on temporary lockdown as a precaution during the incident.
