KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Heavy rain is causing flooded streets, power outages, and overall more problems as we close out Michigan’s already wet spring.
As of 6 a.m. Thursday Consumers Energy’s outage map shows over 3,000 customers without power throughout the state.
Some scattered outages have been reported in downtown Kalamazoo and around Comstock Township, Kalamazoo Township, and nearby Plainwell in Allegan County.
Several streets are also closed around Kalamazoo due to flooding.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is also reminding drivers not to go around barricades or drive through water on the roadway.
