BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A cereal dryer malfunction may have been the cause of another fire at Battle Creek’s Kellogg manufacturing plant.
Crews were called to the plant on Porter Street around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday and employees escorted the firefighters to a cereal dryer that was on fire with extension into the surrounding pipes.
The blaze was quickly extinguished and nobody was injured. Crews are investigating the exact cause.
This is now the 3rd fire in the past 3 months, two similar cereal dryer fires occurred in April and May.
No injuries were reported in either of the earlier fires as well.
