BERRIEN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of their 4-legged co-workers.
K-9 Nero unexpectedly passed away Thursday morning, but the exact cause of his death was not released.
The German Shepherd worked with Deputy Brandon Crosby for 5 years.
The department released this statement on their Facebook page:
“It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we inform you that we have lost one of our beloved, loyal and faithful family members today. Our K9 Nero passed away unexpectedly this morning. Nero has been a devoted and loyal partner to Deputy Brandon Crosby for the last five years. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brandon, Andrea and their family at this time.”
