IRVING TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — 1 person is dead and 4 others are injured after a two-car crash on the 4th of July in Barry County.
It happened just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Eckert Road and Wood School Road in Irving Township.
Barry County Sheriff deputies say 4 people from Battle Creek were traveling in a Dodge Journey when they blew through the stop sign at the intersection and crashed into a Dodge Caravan, driven by a 53-year-old woman from Freeport.
The woman was airlifted to the hospital where she later died. She was identified as Lori A. Russell.
All the other occupants in the Dodge Journey were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Their current conditions have not been released.
