KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Four people are in the Kalamazoo County Jail after a drug and gun bust in the Southside Neighborhood.
Kalamazoo Public Safety’s Crime Reduction Team and the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team were called to the 100 block of East Maple Street around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after they received a tip about possible gun violence involving a 20-year-old Kalamazoo resident.
There they saw a man who attempted to discard a firearm beneath a parked vehicle on the roadway and contacted the suspects, later finding two additional loaded firearms.
A further search also turned up delivery amounts of meth, marijuana, digital scales, and large amounts of money.
The 20-year-old man and 3 other Kalamazoo residents were all arrested for various drug and weapon violations.
In the press release the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety and the Crime Reduction Team thanked and encouraged citizens to continue providing tips regarding gun violence.
