KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man is in custody after a domestic violence incident led to a shooting on the city’s Northside.
Public Safety officers say a woman with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her arm and a man walked into Bronson’s emergency room just after 11:15 p.m. Tuesday and said that she was shot by an unknown suspect as they were walking on North Westnedge Avenue.
It was later determined that the shooting actually occurred inside a home in the 400-block of West Frank Street. Officers searched the residence and found several witnesses, evidence of the shooting, and even the firearm that was used.
Officers figured out that the man that was with the victim at the hospital was the shooting suspect.
The 53-year-old man was taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail on numerous charges including domestic assault 3rd offense, possession of a stolen firearm, and drug charges after officers located meth when they arrested him.
