KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — 72 workers at Bronson Healthcare have been laid off across the company due to a dip in revenue through 2019.
The loss of revenue is said to be the result of declining reimbursement across the country, with many residents over 65 switching to cheaper health plans as an example.
Bronson says that these layoffs will not affect patient care quality, as the 72 workers only made up 1% of the total number of employees.
In a written statement Bronson Corporate Communications Specialist Carolyn Wyllie said, “We are grateful to those leaving the organization for their service. Eligible employees have been provided with wage and benefits continuation based on their years of employment, as well as outplacement services. All are eligible for rehire and may apply for future job openings that match their qualifications.”
