KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Kalamazoo has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for parts of the South Burdick area due to a water main break.
According to a Facebook post by the city Tuesday, the water main break caused a temporary pressure loss, making it advisable to boil water for drinking or cooking use.
The affected areas are as follows –
-
South Burdick Street from Lake Street (north boundary) to West Emerson Street (south boundary). Not including southwest corner of South Burdick and Lake.
-
West Stockbridge Avenue (only northwest corner of Stockbridge and South Burdick).
-
Balch Street from South Burdick (eastern boundary) to South Park Street (western boundary) on the north side of the street.
-
South Park Street at West Crosstown Parkway (Northeast corner of South Park and Balch Street only).
The post notes that this is only a precautionary boil advisory, and expects the advisory to be lifted within 72 hours on August 2nd.
