UNDATED, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s an election day in West Michigan.
Elections are being held in 49 of Michigan’s 83 counties with issues like school millages, filling local positions, bond approvals, tax hikes and more.
The only item on the ballot in Kalamazoo County is in Precinct 1, which is a sinking fund millage proposal for Colon Community Schools not to exceed 1.3-mills for 8-years for the construction or repair of school buildings, security improvements, and technology upgrades.
Allegan County has 3 proposals including a millage to keep the Dorr Township library open as well as a Lee Township roads millage and first responders millage proposal.
Calhoun County has 4 items residents will be voting on including an operating millage in Clarence Township, the purchase of new fire vehicles in Marengo Township, a levy renewal for the Marshall District Library, and a millage increase for local road repairs and upgrades in Sheridan Township.
Most of the ballot questions throughout the state involve funding requests for schools and roads while there are also dozens of different proposals to fund public safety.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
