Mackinac Bridge record broken for falling ice closures

ST. IGNACE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Mackinac Bridge has been closed this winter season 12 times for falling ice.

The Mackinac Bridge Authority says that is a new record for how many times the five-mile span over the Straits of Mackinac had to be closed.

No one has been injured by falling ice on the bridge, but several vehicles have been damaged.
