SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Helmer Creek in Springfield has been declared safe after it was discolored this week.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and city of Springfield investigated the water in the creek and samples taken yesterday were proven to be safe.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy says the discoloration is “consistent with tracer dye from an undetermined source.”
EGLE says there was no odor and no observed impact on wildlife.
