BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM)- Calhoun County has released its 2024–2025 Opioid Settlement Funds Impact Report, detailing the strategic distribution of the first $1 million received from national opioid litigation to combat the local crisis through prevention, treatment, and harm reduction.
Nearly $600,000 was awarded to eight local organizations, while approximately $500,000 supported county-led initiatives like jail-based medication-assisted treatment and substance use enforcement.
County Administrator Kelli Scott says that every dollar is being used to support “real solutions and real people,” noting that the report reflects a deep commitment to long-term community recovery.
This initial investment is part of a larger $13.2 million windfall expected over the next 15 to 20 years to support, rather than burden, the community. You can find the full report on the Calhoun County website, calhouncountymi.gov.
