KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Jail is now using bottled water after high copper levels were discovered in the building’s tap water last month.
Both inmates and employees are drinking the bottled water.
The county repaired a water softener after several pipes burst at the jail in mid-February, but tests in the past week found copper levels remain high.
Another water quality test was run yesterday, and results are expected in two weeks.
