KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo city officials will be at Western Michigan University today to get campus input on their Imagine 2035 master plan.
It is the latest listening session to be held in their “Design It” phase as they turn the comments they have already received from other residents and begin shaping it into an action plan.
City Planner Christina Anderson says the city held “13 meetings to cover 20 of the neighborhoods and we have two more meetings left so we’re at Western Michigan University where we’re going to be tabling with students.”
They will be at the new student center for lunch.
This phase will wrap up late this month with several days of events downtown, from March 28th to April 1st.
“Diving into you know all sorts of issues related to downtown, from transportation to business, arts and culture.”
If you missed the meetings, you can always go online and submit your suggestions and ideas for city improvements at their website.
Anderson adds the work will shape Kalamazoo’s plans for the next decade and says “this is the time to join us to help.”
They have also been conducting surveys, focus group meetings and making themselves available at other community events to collect input.
