KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 43-year-old Kalamazoo man is in the Kalamazoo County Jail on 8 charges after the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, Crime Reduction Team, and SWAT carried out a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Reed Avenue.
It happened February 24th and officers were investigating drug sales and illegal weapons possession.
Officers seized a gun reported stolen to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office in 2024, around 4.5 ounces of methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl packaged for sale, money believed to be drug sale profits, and evidence of drug manufacturing and distribution.
The suspect has prior felony convictions and is not allowed to legally possess a firearm or any ammunition and had been arrested in January for illegally possessing several guns.
His name is not yet being released.
He is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, heroin/fentanyl, and methamphetamine, prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition, receiving and concealing stolen property for the gun, felony firearm, and a bond violation.
