LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The state’s new coyote hunting and trapping season starts today and runs through October 14th.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says the hunting season is designed to address an overabundance of coyotes in the state along with interspecies conflicts.
Hunters must have a base license from the DNR to kill coyotes, and all trappers and hunters who do not live in the state need to have a fur harvester license.
Coyote hunting with dogs is not allowed between April 16th and July 7th.
