LAWTON, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Southwest Michigan Senator Aric Nesbitt delivered the Republican response to Governor Whitmer’s State of the State speech.
He says the GOP will be looking at rooting out fraud, waste and abuse in the government, while also focusing on education, housing and health care.
Nesbitt says Republicans want to enact a “Read by Third Grade” guarantee and bring back the trades to high schools.
He says residents shouldn’t lose hope.
Nesbitt is a Republican gubernatorial candidate in 2026.
