NOTTAWA TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Sturgis area man was killed Wednesday evening in a head-on crash as he was attempting to pass another vehicle in St. Joseph County’s Nottawa Township.
Around 6:20 p.m. deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of M-86 and Findley Road for a reported personal injury traffic crash.
Their preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Thomas Lang was traveling westbound on M-86, attempted to pass a semi-truck, and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle traveling eastbound.
Despite life-saving measures, Lang died at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
