LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Leonard is calling for a one-year moratorium on data centers and for lawmakers to end tax breaks for them.
The former state House Speaker says families “are literally paying the price for corporate land grabs” and says they “should not be forced to subsidize sweetheart deals for massive data centers while their own bills skyrocket.”
Leonard says it’s a “rigged game” benefiting insiders at the expense of residents and is wrong and “insulting.”
Several bipartisan bills have been introduced in the state House to repeal data center tax breaks.
