SANTA ANA, CA (WKZO AM/FM) – A Michigan woman is now on the FBI’s Most Wanted list, accused of posing as a wealthy heiress to steal about $30-million from lenders in California.
Investigators say 73-year-old Mary Carole McDonnell falsely claimed ties to the McDonnell Douglas aviation family and an $80-million trust to secure large loans.
She’s accused of taking nearly $15-million from Banc of California and a similar amount from other institutions.
McDonnell was charged in 2018 but never appeared in court, and a federal warrant is still active.
