MUSKEGON, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 16-year-old is charged as an adult for the shooting death of 72-year-old Thomas Stewart Jr. earlier this month.
Muskegon Public Safety Director Timothy Kozal says the teen is accused of killing Stewart during a robbery and the two likely knew each other.
The elderly man was found dead inside his home on Jiroch Street December 1.
A 17-year-old is also facing charges of possession of a firearm, but is not charged in connection with Stewart’s murder.
Police have not released the names of either suspect, but Kozal says they are “confident we have identified the person responsible for Mr. Stewart’s tragic death.”
