KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Western Michigan University will grant more than 1,100 degrees to students during commencement ceremonies this Saturday, December 13.
The ceremonies will mark the first time President Russ Kavalhuna confers degrees as president of the institution. A WMU alumnus, Kavalhuna crossed the Miller Auditorium stage himself as a graduate.
The University will award 802 bachelor’s, 280 master’s, one specialist degree and 49 doctorates.
The school says graduates hail from 37 countries, including the United States, and will participate in one of two programs at 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at Miller Auditorium.
The ceremony for the Haworth College of Business, College of Fine Arts, College of Health and Human Services, and College of Education and Human Development will be held at 9:00 a.m. at Miller Auditorium, with graduation for the College of Arts and Sciences, Merze Tate College, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and College of Aviation at 12:00 p.m.
All guests, including family members and children of any age, must have a ticket to enter Miller Auditorium. Seating in the auditorium is limited, and all seats are general admission.
