KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 79-year-old Kalamazoo woman has claimed a $3 million Mega Millions prize from the Michigan Lottery.
Carol Bukant says she and her husband decided to buy $20 worth of tickets when the jackpot was nearly $1 billion from JJ Land LLC at 4421 West Centre Avenue in Portage.
They matched all white balls in the November 14th drawing, missing just the Mega Ball.
Bukant says they thought they had won $1 million, but they realized they had a 3x multiplier, bringing their win to $3 million.
She says she plans to save her winnings.
