OTSEGO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan State Police troopers say they found human remains near Otsego during a welfare check.
They were called to an area on M-89 north of 106th Avenue in Otsego Township to check on a 48-year-old woman who had been living in a camper behind a home and had not been seen for a while.
Detective First Lieutenant Chuck Christensen says the scene is being excavated by their forensic laboratory and Western Michigan University anthropologists and says the remains had been there a few weeks.
An autopsy will be done today by WMed.
Her name has not been released.
