KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Western Michigan University honored Marshawn Kneeland, who played college football in Kalamazoo before being drafted by the Dallas Cowboys.
Last night, the Broncos had his collegiate number 99 on the field at Waldo Stadium after Kneeland took his own life in Texas last week and had decals on all of their helmets as they beat the Ohio Bobcats.
Athletic director Dan Bartholomae says he and head coach Lance Taylor got the Broncos together last week when they learned of Kneeland’s suicide and talked to them.
Western is 6-and-4 on the season and is bowl eligible with two regular season games to play at Northern Illinois on November 18 and at Eastern Michigan on November 24.
