ST. IGNACE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One person has jumped to their death from the Mackinac Bridge.
A Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says it happened around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday.
Jumps from the bridge connecting Michigan’s Lower and Upper Peninsulas are rare, and the last time it happened was on New Year’s Eve in 2012 when a woman jumped to her death.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority says in the 1950s when the bridge was being built, five men fell to their deaths.
