KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Even though the Battle Creek meal will continue, officials with God’s Kitchen of Michigan say it is “with a heavy heart” that they announce the cancellation of their Thanksgiving dinner in Kalamazoo, a decision driven by “an alarming lack of donations.”
Reverend William Stein, Chairman and Co-Founder of God’s Kitchen of Michigan, says the annual gathering, which he says provides warm meals and a sense of community to those most in need, will not take place this year without the support of additional donors.
“We have been committed to feeding the hungry in Kalamazoo since our expansion in 2017, and we are profoundly grateful to our church and union sponsors in Battle Creek for their unwavering support,” said Reverend Stein, Chairman and Co-Founder of God’s Kitchen of Michigan. “However, I am disheartened by local media, particularly the Kalamazoo Gazette, WWMT, FOX 17, and WOOD TV, which have repeatedly declined to publish information about our fundraising efforts over the past four years. This has significantly hindered our ability to reach those who wish to help.”
Reverend Stein says, “The Thanksgiving meal in Kalamazoo was anticipated as a beacon of hope for many, yet without immediate community support, this essential service may be jeopardized. We encourage individuals and businesses alike to contribute to this critical cause.”
Donations can be sent as tax-deductible checks or money orders to God’s Kitchen of Michigan, P.O. Box 2632, Kalamazoo, MI 49003, before November 15. God’s Kitchen officials say due to time constraints, online donations cannot be processed in time for this year’s meal.

My friend & I are both disabled & live at the Econo Lodge. I’ve seen how well off some are in Kalamzoo & I’ve watched over the years how rotten Kalamzoo & other cities & states treat the down trodden. God is dismantling the globalists plans & bringing them to nothing. We can’t even get a bus on the holiday if there were a meal available to us. Maybe someone could reach out to the Strykers. Maybe they could provide a few side dishes. Up here surrounded by terrorists & vipers barely surviving but great job on the new Epic Center. Keep Kalamzoo queer how about we keep Kalamzoo fed. The system helped wreck these people then threw them away. Kalamzoo should be so damn ashamed of itself. Pretending they can’t afford this dinner. Repent ye for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Bob’s Furniture up here beating up their own drivers at the gas station & the police wouldn’t come. They almost killed this man. God is coming to Kalamzoo. His mighty right hand this nation will tremble. All the nations. Michigan is the heart of terrorism in this country. God is putting out the trash. It is written. I see demons & most of the Kalamzoo police can’t even look me in the eye. Little boys all grown up with guns under demonic oppression. Feed the people & stop playing.
Unless you are a child, severely disabled -physically (this means you cant walk or are missing limbs) or mentally, a veteran, or a victim of domestic abuse trying to get away. It is NO ONE’S responsibility for YOU other than YOU, especially not the government’s – local, state, or federal. If you have to work 16 hours a day, 7 days a week well I guess that sucks, but YOU are in this position because of how YOU have led YOUR life. However, based on your post it does seem that you might qualify for mental disability though.
Ah yes. Bash gay people. Perfectly christian behavior.
God loves even the terrorists trying to allow them to repent.
I don’t think it matters who is hungry in a community but when city officials step over hungry people to paint matching roofs instead of feeding their hungry and helping their homeless they add to the issue instead of helping actual people. Who cares if roofs match we need a roof and food. We are people. You are capable of helping people that did nothing wrong and only want to get well and become productive again and you as a city are failing us as humans.
First that gross factory reset the environment to complete unhealthy locals and their offspring and now they are cleaning up their air so why not use some of your funds to feed the hungry people of your every so fine city??? Get factories to provide meals at God’s kitchen.
All cooperations in Kalamazoo need to donate to God’s kitchen monthly.
They owe the people.
Feed your community.
Meanwhile I meant I don’t think it matters who is hungry…no one should be
Feed your community, mayor.
Feed your community.
Feed your community.
Feed your community.
Feed your community
The communication style leans dramatic and grievance-framed, so they may be exaggerating frustration into absolutes. I found several articles in the last 4 years the very media they claim does not give them coverage.
This leaves me to believe that there is more to the story than is being told here.
One wonders why they choose not to share donated resources between cities as well as where all the money that the affiliated Church is collecting is actually going.
If only religious institutions had to abide by the same laws that other nonprofits do and release that information to the public.
