LANSING, MI — State officials say they will be harvesting the official state Christmas Tree today near Sault Ste. Marie. The tree is set to arrive in Lansing this weekend.
Officials say the majestic tree’s owner, Linda Reid, donated the 68-foot blue spruce in honor of her grandparents, Lawrence and Nettie Richey.
Crews from Lansing BWL will hang Christmas lights on the Christmas tree and prepare for it to be lit as part of the Silver Bells in the City festivities in downtown Lansing on Friday night Nov. 21, following the Electric Light Parade.
