KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo City Commission has called a special meeting for this afternoon to ratify a contract with their choice for the city’s next manager.
They report they have been able to negotiate a deal with Malcolm Hankins of Iowa.
The contract calls for an annual salary of $259,000 with a standard pension plan for administrative employees.
He will get 5 weeks of vacation annually, a $750-per-month allowance for a car, a $3,500 housing allowance for six months, with an option for another 6 months.
He will also get $30,000 to cover moving expenses.
The special session will begin at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall.
