KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – People who have United Insurance might be out-of-network in January if they use Bronson Healthcare in the Kalamazoo area.
There are about 30,000 people with United who are currently patients at Bronson.
Senior vice president and chief revenue officer Ryan Horn at Bronson Healthcare says they are trying to get United to reach a new deal.
United Healthcare CEO Dustin Hinton says in a statement they are engaged in negotiations with Bronson and both sides say they are committed to reaching an agreement.

I know I started using United Health Care over 5 years ago when I lived in the Grand Rapids Metro area. At that time they were not in Kalamazoo. My wife worked at Bronson and my family physician was here so I just used hers for that. Because of my health issues I have many specialist’s that I have to see, Neurologist, Orthopedic, Cardio, Cancer and others. United saved me a great deal of money not only with the health care but with transportation. Finding pharmacy, physical therapy, transportation and lodging for going to places like Mayo, Cleveland Clinic and Ann Arbor. Know when we retired stayed just in Kalamazoo County but closer to Otsego area because United was not in Allegan yet. I know with in a year they took on Allegan and we sold I sold Modular and Moved to Otsego,
Last three years they have been great. Had to move downtown Kalamazoo because changes in SS. Lousing United with have a big effect on all of the seniors who use them, Many of my friends have switched from Blue Cross. Priority, Humana and others to them It would be hard to switch with all the otyer changes going on.
