KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Veterans Events Committee is looking for nominations for its 2025 Kalamazoo County Veteran of the Year Award.
The group says it’s looking to honor a veteran whose outstanding service includes contributions to both veterans and the broader community long after taking off their military uniform for the last time.
The Rotary Club of Kalamazoo and Kalamazoo Veterans Coalition have established a subcommittee with the support and participation from numerous local veteran organizations from across Kalamazoo County to review the submissions. The nomination deadline is October 5, 2025.
Once selected, the Veteran of the Year will be recognized at the seventh annual Veterans Day Ceremony now being held at the Army National Guard Armory located at 5353 Parkview Avenue in Kalamazoo, November 11 at 2:00 p.m.
Organizations and/or individuals are encouraged to submit nominations via the online form available at 2025 Veteran of the Year Nomination Form.
Submissions can also be emailed to kalvetcoalition@gmail.com or mailed to the Rotary Club of Kalamazoo at P.O. Box 50251, Kalamazoo, MI 49005-0251.
